Abstract

: Increasingly tight competition in the job market requires university graduates to have strong career readiness, not only in academic knowledge but also in the practical skills needed to face selection processes. Students often lack structured guidance in writing an effective curriculum vitae (CV) and preparing for job interviews. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding of job selection stages and their readiness for the workforce through a pre-employment workshop held on 16 September 2026 by the campus Entrepreneurship and Career Development Unit. The activity was carried out by internship students through five stages: preparation, promotion, workshop implementation with a psychologist as resource person, CV writing practice and interview simulation, and evaluation. The material covered recruitment stages, CV writing techniques friendly to automated screening systems, interview frameworks, and preparation for entering the workforce. Success was assessed through a four-point satisfaction questionnaire completed by 32 participants from various faculties, supported by observation and documentation. Results showed a high level of satisfaction, with more than 96% of participants agreeing or strongly agreeing across all assessed aspects, particularly regarding the material’s contribution to workforce-readiness insight. For the internship students, the activity strengthened communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while opening professional networks with the resource person. These findings suggest that similar pre-employment workshops are effective in improving student career readiness, although direct measurement of understanding gains through pre-test and post-test is still recommended for future activities.
