Penerapan Media Lagu sebagai Stimulus dalam Pembelajaran Puisi di Kelas VIII Hang Lekir SMPN 1 Pekanbaru

Abstract

Poetry learning at the Junior High School (SMP) level still faces various obstacles, especially in helping students understand the characteristics of poetry, especially distinguishing diaphanous poetry and prismatic poetry which have different levels of straightforward meaning. This condition causes students to experience difficulties in interpreting the meaning of poetry correctly so that learning media that can provide a more concrete and contextual learning experience are needed. This study aims to describe the application of song media as a stimulus in poetry learning in class VIII Hang Lekir SMPN 1 Pekanbaru. The study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 37 class VIII Hang Lekir SMPN 1 Pekanbaru students. The research data were obtained through the results of Student Worksheets (LKPD) which were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of averages and percentages. The results showed that the application of song media as a stimulus was able to create more contextual learning through the activities of listening to songs, observing lyrics, communicating, and interpreting the meaning of songs before connecting them to the concept of poetry. The average result of student LKPD at the first meeting was 90.89, while at the second meeting it was 97.65. Research findings indicate that songs not only serve as a learning medium but also as a stimulus that helps students develop an understanding of poetry, the elements of poetry, and the characteristics of diaphanous and prismatic poetry through interpretation of song lyrics. Thus, songs can be an alternative learning stimulus that supports more contextual, active, and meaningful poetry learning.
